It's Download Day! --> help Firefox set a World Record
Dear all, Download Day it's here and it's today.
After much hype and anticipation, the latest version (3) of the browser everyone talks about (and some dare use!) is here.
The team is aiming to set a World Download Record, counting all downloads from their website, and starting at 19h00 CET (or 1pm EST). Go download the installation package now!
Finally, Ars Technica just published an article summarizing the new features and improvements specially for the most curious of you, of which the most noticeable facts IMHO are :
- it's faster
- it's way less memory-hungry (and that's an understatement)
P.S. At the time this post is written, the servers seem to be exceptionally loaded (and some still show the old version!!??). Have patience !
You can download the Win32 en-US binary directly from here
20h24 CET: the Firefox site is finally updated now (although it is still rather sluggish).
21h21 CET: Everything's OK now: let's Rock 'n' Roll!!!
